This is a statutory protection under the Community Interest Company Regulations 2005, not a voluntary policy. All of the CIC's assets — including grant funding, donations and any surplus — are permanently protected for community benefit and cannot be distributed to directors, members or shareholders. If the CIC is ever wound up, any remaining assets must be transferred to another asset-locked body, such as a charity or CIC, for continued community benefit.
Angie's Heart of Hope CIC is a UK-registered Community Interest Company (No. 17366406), asset-locked by law. Support raised for our Uganda work is protected by the same statutory asset lock as everything else we do — it can never be diverted for private profit.
